JIM SCHMIDT

A Vision for Progress in North Dakota

Join Jim Schmidt in building a brighter future for North Dakota’s District 31. Together, we can address the challenges facing our community and create opportunities for growth and prosperity.

Meet Jim Schmidt

A Proven Conservative Voice for District 31

Jim Schmidt is a fourth-generation agricultural land owner, conservationist, and community leader who previously served District 31 in the North Dakota House of Representatives from 2011 to 2022. A longtime resident of Huff, Jim built a reputation as a hard-working conservative and a strong voice for agriculture, water infrastructure, and fiscal responsibility.

After years of continued engagement in his community and state, Jim is ready to return to Bismarck, bringing the same pragmatic, results-focused approach that defined more than a decade of public service. He and his family own and operate a ranch that has been in their family for over a century.

“Our district deserves experienced leadership grounded in hard work, straight talk, and common sense. I’ve spent my life working with the land, helping ag producers, and making sure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.”

– Jim Schmidt

Throughout his career, Jim has been guided by a simple principle: serve the people of District 31 with integrity, accountability, and results. He has lived and worked in multiple states, giving him a clear-eyed view of what policies work for rural America, and which ones don’t.
